Last night, we were driving home and the sunset was really pretty. I tried to get some pictures and I think this was the best one. Luke said that the smoke from the big fire had a lot to do with it.

We had a totally awesome storm blow through this evening and Luke aka "Photography Genius" got some really cool lightning pictures. He took over 300 pictures. There was one ear shattering strike that just about cost me some dry undies. I just about jumped out of my skin. Oh, the memories of a childhood spent being terrified of thunderstorms.....

On Sunday, we had a little black kitty come over to visit. This little kitty was soooo friendly and cute! He and Josie were instant friends. This same little kitty tried (much to Frannie's dismay )to come into my house Monday morning. We are pretty sure he has a family because of his comfort around dogs and people.
Well, it is official, my baby boy is growing up. Luke and Kristian were wrestling and Kristian somehow managed to knock his already loose tooth on his knee leading to the bloodletting you see here.
So, Kristian, being the tough guy that he is, decided that he wanted to pull it out himself. But, in the long run Luke had to pull it out. This time there was no fight and Kristian is very pleased with himself. He really is a special kid.
I have been accused of some things in my time, but posting unflattering pictures? I don't know about that. But, as a woman, I guess I can relate. So, for your entertainment I post a very unflattering photo my Husband took of me! I asked him to get a picture of me taking down my Sensei, boy was I surprised by this beauty.
It finally happened! Kristian lost a tooth naturally. After much turmoil it finally came out. Kristian has had all his teeth up til now pulled by the Dentist. This particular tooth was very stubborn we tried to pull it on Sunday but for whatever reason it hung on and last night we finally succeeded, when I say we I mean Luke. I just took the pictures.
Here they are tying a piece of floss to the said tooth and the handle of our car door. The car door was the heaviest door we have so naturally it was the best choice. Kristian is sure putting on his bravest face.
Hmmm. I think Kristian is a little concerned. Not really sure he wants to go through with this.
Finally, the door shuts and what do you think happens? The string breaks! Tooth is still attached!
This time we managed to loosen it even more. At this point we try the " Dad is going to pull it out manually approach " And the battle ensues. Again, we are not happy and when I say we I mean Kristian.
Luke is so patient. He is doing his best to comfort a very freaked out kid. Ohhh, it brings back memories!! Finally, I decide to vacate the scene. I went into the kitchen to pop some popcorn, when I hear "It's gone? IT'S GONE! OHHHH!! MAMA IT"S GONE! IIIIIIITTTTT"S GOOOONNNNNE!!!!" Imagine a little boy crying like he lost something he was really attached to and is totally devastated.
And here is the final product. He has a little trouble with his s's which is really cute. It will really be pronounce when he loses the other tooth, which will probably happen before the summer ends. When I asked Kristian why he cried, he simply said "I was crying because I was happy!" He is quite the kid! Good job, Kristian!
I don't know why, but I like to build things. I like a good challenge. Who I inherited it from I will never know, there are sooo many possibilities. When Luke passed his test to become a Journeyman Plumber, I decided that I wanted to make him the coolest cake ever. What could be better than a toilet cake. After much research, I decided on this baby right here.
My SIL Carol helped me immensely with this endeavor. I could not have done it without her. She was very kind to allow me to use her kitchen and all her cool baking gadgets. And when all the frosting was complete we added the fun items. Blue jello for the toilet water and little chocolate chips for a little added flare.
On the 4th of July we went fishing with Luke's Mom & Sister. It was a really beautiful day, the weather was very ideal considering the temperature back home - a piping 100 degrees!
I caught these little guys swimming around in the shallow end.
Grandma teaching Kristian how to cast. He is the luckiest boy in the world. He has the coolest Grandmas ever.
Look at that cast!
Oops, all tangled up.
