Kristian's New Haircut

It's pretty bad when your child tells you that he needs a haircut. Well, that is exactly what happened. I got "Mom when are you going to get me a haircutah!" I over-emphasize the word haircut because that is exactly how he sounded. No joke. I have to admit it was getting pretty shaggy and he takes after my curls and his hair is not so easy to comb.

I asked him how he wanted his haircut, and he said he wanted it just like his Dad's. It is kinda hard to see cuz it's so dark but I thought he had such a nice smile and you can actually see his forehead. I think he looks pretty handsome myself and from the looks of it he won't need to get a haircut for a long time.

Ruh Roh Raggy!

Well, we have an added bonus to all our pet troubles. Miss Josie has an ear infection. This is our 4th vet visit under 2 weeks. Now we have to clean her ear and then add ointment twice a day, something that she goes crazy for. I think she is feeling better. I discovered it Tuesday evening and it was to late to take her in. Luke said that she grumbled and growled all night. Last night, she slept all night. Thankfully, we caught it right at the start so hopefully we can eradicate it.

She still manages to be able to chew on her little piece of raw hide. She is not very happy to have her pics taken. She loathes that dang e-collar. Hang in there Josie! Just a couple more days!

And then we have our skinny kitty. She is doing much better, but she still does not eat very much. I, the faithful kitty owner that I am, have stood steadfast by dutifully watching the litter box for any clear signs of a bowel movement. Yesterday, I think we were successful. Luke, the lucky fellow that he is, came home as I was cleaning the box. We had a little show and compare with two sets of very different poo. I know what you are asking, where are the pics? But, I will spare you. And no! I did not take pictures. Although, I did think about it later.

Constikitty

Well, remember when I said "No more vet bills"? Well, my little Frannie kitty had to go and get herself plugged up. I took her to the vet on friday because she had lost so much weight and was not eating. One kitty enema later, here she is back in her humble home.

Look at how skinny she is. It is pretty sad considering she is the glutton of the family.

And here we have the very portly Sully.

And a side by side having a little treat time. She seems to be ok and eating a little more each day. I don't know how long it will be until she gets back to normal. She was not very big to begin with.

Humiliation Part 2

Well, Josie was able to get to her foot and the inflatable collar was a bust. I think this one may be one as well because I have seen her attempt to lick her foot and she can just lick where her toes are. I have applied a bitter apple spray to the foot hoping that tomorrow she will be OK. Pray that she will be a good girl. No more vet visits!

Humiliation

Well. Today I took Josie took work with me and needless to say it did not go so well. So I left work earlier than planned and took her home. I made an immediate trip to Petsmart to get her an e-collar. A very expensive e-collar much to my dismay. But, being desperate, I paid the price. When I returned home, I discovered she could still reach her back foot. Very disappointing. I immediately returned to Petsmart to return and purchase a bigger e-collar. The Petsmart people were very good about the exchange and I went on my way yet again. And here is the final product, a totally humiliated animal. I am pretty sure she won't be causing much trouble whilst I am away seeing how she barely moves.

I hope she is just embarrassed and not hurting. I think her bandage slipped off her foot a little and I think it might being bothering her. I hope she won't be mad at me forever. She is a very sensitive pooch. Poor Baby!

Black & Blue

Well, it is Sunday and Kristian's black eye keeps getting darker. The swelling is almost gone now but he sure looks like he was in a fight.

Not another one!!

Isn't he just the most handsome guy you have ever seen? Ok yeah, he does look a little grouchy, he can't seem to understand why we keep taking pictures of his black eye. It has gotten to the point where I hardly notice it and then strangers always ask him what happened. He told the girl at that the vet's office that he hit Logan. He is a lover, definitely not a fighter.

And then Miss Josie, she is feeling better today. We had karate this morning and she had to go to Grandma's house. We just don't trust her enough to leave her. We also had to seran wrap her foot because it was raining and her foot cannot get wet. You should have seen the first attempt. She had a ziploc baggy rubber banded to her foot. It was quite comical. Oooohhh the joys of pet ownership.

Roses are red, Kristian's eye is black and blue. Josie cut her foot open and had to get stitches, too.

Well, here we have day 2 of the black eye and the picture really does not do it any justice. It is pretty purple but at least the swelling has gone down. He looks pretty tough though kind of like he got in a fight.

And then we have Josie. Somehow she managed to cut her foot open in the backseat of Luke's truck. Luke and Kristian took her to the vet where they had to stitch her foot up. Now I know for sure that we have a good dog. How many dogs would stand in the kitchen sink like this while their crazy owner took their picture. Her foot is pretty sore and she hobbles around on 3 legs it is pretty sad to see her hurting. I think it is about time for her pain meds. She also gets to go to work with me next week. I would sure hate to leave her to her own devices who knows what she would do to herself.

Here she is after a 3 hour nap putting on her best sad face. Now everyone all at once, "Aaaaaaaahhhh Poor Baby!"

A Playground Collision

Well, I got a phone call from Kristian this morning and it goes a little something like this. "Hello" I said. "Well, Mom." Kristian says "What's goin on Buddy?" said I very curiously "Well, I bonked heads with Logan and I got a black eye. But I am ok though." Apparently before school started, they were running in circles on the playground and they had a collision and his friend's forehead met Kristian's cheek. Well, apparently Logan rubbed his head and Kristian did the same with his cheek and they continued to play. It was an hour later when his teacher noticed the bruise and the swelling on his cheek. They asked what happened and why he didn't tell anyone and he said he thought he was fine. They asked if he cried and he said that he didn't, that he was tough. I later asked the secretary how Logan's head handled the crash and she said there were no marks on Logan. So, he had to stay in for first recess with an ice pack on his face. Tomorrow ought to be interesting.

My Evil Evil Project

I decided yet again to challenge myself. This is what happens when your money is going elsewhere. I am taking some of our furniture pieces and refinishing them. And what a project it has become. I sand and I sand and I sand and I sand!!!!! But, there is hope, I am almost finished. I keep telling myself how nice it will look when I am all finished. Please say a prayer for me that I won't crack up. Coming soon - The staining process. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

My Miracle Man

We had a rather scary experience over the weekend and we had our eyes pried open to reality. I am so thankful for this boy and all the joys and challenges he has brought me.
